A Letter from our President

Greetings AOR members, It has certainly been a challenging year for all and I hope this email finds you safe and well. On behalf of the board of the Association of Ohio Recyclers I want to thank you for your continued support of AOR during this difficult year and we look forward to the day when we can come together again. I do want to give you an update on the workshop AOR was co-presenting with The Recycling partnership originally planned for October 2020. Unfortunately due to the current restrictions and safety protocols in place we have had to postpone the event. The good news is AOR is partnering with OALPRP and SWANA Buckeye Chapter to bring you this informative workshop as part of a larger Partners Conference in June 2021. Stay tuned for more details as this event takes shape. Also please see the updates in this newsletter regarding new members and other upcoming events you may be interested in. The AOR board will continue working hard on your behalf and values any input you may have. If you have any questions or have any information you would like to share with your fellow members please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our board members and we would be happy to include it in our next update. AOR Welcomes Three New Board Members! Please join us in welcoming our three newest board members! Jason Radtke is the Director at Royal Paper Stock, a paper recycling and brokerage company based in Columbus, OH. He has been with Royal for 26 years and has worked in procuring scrap as well as selling material to paper mills throughout the country. His other responsibilities have included managing operations at both the Columbus and Cincinnati facilities as well as sales manager for the company. He is also one of the founders of Royal Document Destruction, a sister company to Royal Paper Stock that provides confidential shredding services to businesses in, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Jason is a graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor Degree in Economics.

Royal Paper Stock

Since 1952, Royal Paper Stock has helped companies create efficient, effective and customized recycling programs that deliver solid business results. From the family that founded the company to the family that runs it today, Royal Paper Stock maintains an unwavering set of priorities. Our first and most important goal is to serve our customers, working one-on-one with them to customize recycling solutions that transform their waste into benefits, both for the environment and for their business.

In order to best serve our customers, Royal Paper Stock expanded our offerings into plastics recycling through RPS Plastic Recyclers, document destruction through Royal Document Destruction, as well as an equipment leasing business in RPS Leasing. These three businesses are all separate entities that have been created to give our customers the most comprehensive recycling programs in the industry. And while we are not a “trash hauler,” we have partnered with local waste hauling companies to help handle every portion of the waste process. Our goal is to be the “one-stop shop” to handle all of the waste needs for our customers.

Royal Paper Stock has always been a “local company,” with the focus coming on companies that we can serve in the Ohio market. We have two recycling facilities. Our Headquarters and primary recycling facility are located in Columbus, Ohio and another, slightly smaller facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. From these two plants, we work to service customers throughout the Midwest to collect, segregate and process all of their scrap materials.

Our affiliate, RPS Plastic Recyclers, has one facility that is separate from our recycling operation, but also located in Columbus, Ohio. This facility works with local and regional business to collect, PETE, HDPE, LDPE, PP, PS among other types of scrap. We have invested in a grinder in order to more efficiently handle different types of scrap and make the transportation of this material more cost effective.

Royal Document Destruction is similar to Royal Paper Stock in that this affiliate has completely secure and separate facilities located in Gahanna, Ohio and Blue Ash, Ohio. These two locations handle different types of paper and product destruction. This includes hard drives, disks and any type of document or machine that contains confidential information.

Lastly, Royal Paper Stock is not only a large local recycling company and processor of scrap paper waste, but we are a national paper and plastic brokerage company. We work with companies all over the country to buy and sell their paper waste. Our network of mill contacts and our reputation as a customer-focused company allow us to move tens of thousands of tons of paper around the country each month! Our dedicated staff works with our customers as well as the paper mills and plastic consumers to move semi-load quantities across the entire country.
